SHREVEPORT, La. — For young athletes, a serious injury can jeopardize their future in sports, but one local cheerleader has worked her way back to competition after suffering a severe knee fracture during tryouts.
Macy Fuller was attempting a routine tumbling pass during tryouts for Redemption, a Level 4 senior competitive team with the Louisiana Rebel All Stars, when the injury occurred. Fuller was executing a roundoff back handspring layout when she came down awkwardly.
“It was right when I came down. It just like it felt so bad and, like, wrong,” Fuller said. “My knee was like going completely out sideways. And I was like, this doesn’t look right.”…
