WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A 55-year-old man was killed in a Fourth of July shooting in Southeast D.C., according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
Police said officers responded around 6 a.m. to reports of an unconscious person in the 1800 block of Irving St. SE.

There, 55-year-old Adeyinka Aderemi, of Northeast, D.C., was pronounced dead by DC Fire and EMS crews. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.
