Since opening in 2021, Emma Rue’s cocktail lounge has operated at the corner of Howard Street and First Avenue in a space that’s long been a hub of downtown Spokane’s nightlife scene. (Before Emma Rue’s, it was the Blue Spark bar for 14 years.)
After transitioning from a day-to-night cafe and bar to focus exclusively on evening cocktail service in 2024, the spot launched a lineup of savory small plates and desserts. A destination for date nights, post-event drinks and special occasions, the lounge recently announced it will shut its doors by Aug. 30. However, another update shared on the venue’s Instagram hinted that the departure might not be permanent.
“We poured so much love and passion into this dream but the time has come to take a pause,” owner Alyssa Agee shared in the post. “Emma Rue’s is not gone forever but it is done for now.”…
