SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane residents will dial 3-1-1 beginning in late October to report non-emergency crimes as the city takes control of emergency communications services previously handled by Spokane Regional Emergency Communications.
The change affects only city residents. Those on the county side of Havana Avenue will continue using the existing crime check number.
“What we’re telling people is, if it’s not an emergency and they’re in city limits, call 311. So, it’s one number, people are already familiar with the 311 number if they have a pothole that they need to report or they need help paying their water bill,” said Erin Hut, City of Spokane…
