Spokane Housing Authority gets $126,000 for new childcare center in Dishman Hills

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Housing Authority (SHA) announced it received $126,000 to help plan a new early learning childcare center at Orchard Vista in Spokane Valley.

According to a release by SHA, the money came from the Washington State Department of Commerce Early Learning Facilities Program and will support predesign work for the center in the Dishman Hills neighborhood.

The childcare site is planned next to Orchard Vista Apartments, a 240-unit affordable housing project now under construction for households at or below 60% of area median income.
