Trial for Spokane mother accused of fatally stabbing, shooting ex-boyfriend delayed again

SPOKANE, Wash. – An abrupt hearing in a Spokane County courtroom Thursday resulted in another delay for the murder trial of Cythia Khaleel. She’s accused of fatally stabbing and shooting her ex-boyfriend, Justin Daniel, back in April of 2024.

Detectives believe Khaleel broke into Daniel’s Mead home in the middle of the night. He was found repeatedly stabbed and was also shot multiple times. The former couple had just ended a custody dispute resulting in Daniel being awarded primary custody of their (then) toddler.

Another child from a previous relationship was home when the attack occurred. She was able to escape, physically unharmed. The child Daniel and Khaleel shared was in the care of someone else at the time of the murder…
