A heat advisory took effect late Tuesday morning and will last until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, which forecasts a high temperature of 100 degrees in Houston. The advisory impacts the entir Southeast Texas region, including Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston and Montgomery counties.
