Almost three years after a 2023 Thanksgiving Day fire destroyed the Rusty Buckle’s original building, the popular New Caney barbecue joint will reopen Friday in a new, larger building.
The restaurant, at 22664 Community Drive and owned by Allen Rhoden, operated out of a food truck after the blaze until late December 2025 before that shut down to prepare for the new building.
“It’s finally back to doing what we’ve missed for far too long, serving the best barbecue around to the best people anywhere,” according to a Facebook post announcing the reopening.
