Interstate 45 reopens near The Woodlands following truck fire, cooking oil spill

Southbound lanes of Interstate 45 in Montgomery County reopened Wednesday afternoon after crews from the Texas Department of Transportation cleaned more than 5,000 gallons of cooking oil off the roadway.

Around 6 a.m., an 18-wheeler carrying the cooking oil caught fire on the interstate near Rayford Road. Traffic was backed up to Texas 105 in Conroe.
