A former teacher in Humble and New Caney ISDs was arrested last week and charged with indecency with a child following an investigation into his relationship with a middle school student, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Garrett Cross, a former theater arts teacher, turned himself into the sheriff’s office on Friday after authorities obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to law enforcement. Cross most recently taught at Humble ISD’s Kingwood Middle School, where he was placed on administrative leave after the district learned of the investigation in December, Principal Michael Curl said in a letter to parents.
