Letters to the Editor: Earth Day and facts see support; Missouri politicians not so much

Earth Day celebrates, supports important work

I read with interest the letter from Barry Rowell published on Sunday and wanted to just throw in my support for the Earth Day Festival, which contributes greatly to the quality of life and culture in our community, as well as promoting sustainability and general environmental awareness.

I also support the idea of working to reduce nutrient content in our streams, which has been noted in the recent study performed by the city and consultants regarding Lake Springfield as a problem. The fact that this festival is contributing to our overall community as well as financially supporting organizations who have direct impact on the water quality in our region should be applauded.
