STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island legend and world-famous rapper Method Man recently announced he was selling his long-time home on the South Shore of Staten Island.
The Wu-Tang Clan member said although he isn’t moving off of Staten Island, he’ll be moving from his Huguenot residence — which is currently listed for sale with Ozana Realty at $1,248,000.
“I’m not actually leaving Staten Island,” Method Man told Advance reporter Shane DiMaio. “But I am moving out of this home and it’s going up on the market very soon.”
Ozana Realty head broker Gal Ozana said he expects the home to be available for showings as soon as Monday, May 4.
“It’s very rare you see something like this,” said Ozana. “You’re talking about a Staten Island legend —someone who helped put this borough on the map globally. Homes with that kind of story almost never come available.”
Method Man says he’s still happy to call Staten Island home and appreciates the love he still receives from the community.
“It’s great to be honored with our own district: the Wu-Tang District in my old stomping grounds, Park Hill,” he said.
The artist recently spoke with Advance/SILive.com from his property to discuss the new listing, his roots on the borough and the recent announcement of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame…
