Teen driver leads State Police on 35-mile chase from DeWitt to Oneida County

Syracuse, N.Y. — A 16-year-old driver led State Police on a 35-mile pursuit Wednesday afternoon that began in DeWitt and ended in Oneida County, troopers said.

The incident started around 1:22 p.m. when State Police attempted to stop a 2008 gray BMW on Carrier Circle in the town of DeWitt. The vehicle had switched license plates, heavy window tint and multiple traffic violations, according to Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a spokesperson for State Police.
