Motorcyclist Arrested After High-Speed Ride Between Thurston and Pierce Counties

A motorcyclist was arrested Saturday night after traveling at speeds exceeding 130 mph on Interstate 5 and riding between Thurston and Pierce counties, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The incident began near Lacey when a state patrol aircraft observed a motorcycle being driven recklessly on I-5. A trooper attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the rider continued northbound. Ground units stopped following the motorcycle while the aircraft maintained visual contact.

According to the State Patrol, the motorcycle traveled as far north as Tacoma before turning around and heading back toward Thurston County. The motorcycle later exited the freeway near Martin Way, where authorities observed a passenger riding with the driver…
