TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa City Council is considering a series of changes to its public comment procedures aimed at streamlining meetings and keeping discussions focused on agenda items.

Under the proposal, residents who wish to speak on matters appearing on the council agenda would do so during designated public comment periods tied to those items. Individuals who want to address unrelated concerns would be given a separate opportunity to speak, either at the beginning or end of the meeting.
