TAMPA, Fla. — A water main break has completely shut down a busy East Tampa intersection, forcing drivers to find alternate routes through the end of the holiday weekend.
The Tampa Water Department announced Saturday morning that East Hanna Avenue is closed to all traffic at the intersection of North 38th Street. Repair crews are already on the scene working to fix the broken pipe.
City workers have set up barricades and detour signs throughout the immediate area to help reroute drivers around the closure. Local officials are asking motorists to use extra caution when driving through nearby neighborhoods, as unexpected traffic shifts and modifications may become necessary as the repair work progresses…
