Powerful wind gusts knocked Fermi 2 offline

NEWPORT, Mich. — Strong wind gusts that moved across southeast Michigan are blamed for the automatic shutdown of DTE Energy’s Fermi 2 nuclear plant.

The reactor, according to U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission online records, remained at zero percent power Monday morning.
