TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Residents at a Toledo recovery house say they were told verbally this week that some buildings are being shut down and they must leave by Sunday, leaving dozens of people in substance abuse treatment with little time to find alternative housing.
Keep It Simple House (KISH), a company owned by TruHealing, informed residents of the closures without written notice, according to residents. Those in the two affected buildings face a Sunday move-out deadline. Residents of a third building were told they must begin paying rent within two weeks.
‘We never received any notice’
Christopher Wilson, who has lived at KISH for about 48 days, said he learned of the change verbally.
“We never received any notice. They came and told us verbally yesterday that we had to leave — that two of the buildings are shutting down and everybody had to be out of them two buildings by Sunday. And the other building, which I reside in, we have to start paying rent in two weeks, no matter what,” Wilson said…
