Lucas County sheriff vows to keep Flock cameras on amid audit call

Lucas County Sheriff Mike Navarre said he has no intention of turning off Flock cameras as Commissioner Pete Gerken prepares to call for an independent audit of their use.

Mr. Gerken announced Monday that he would be holding a news conference Tuesday morning “to discuss concerns about Flock cameras and call for an independent audit of its use in Lucas County.”

Soon after, Sheriff Navarre said in a statement that he will continue to use them, doubling down on their value for law enforcement. The county approved a four-year contract with Flock Group in July, 2025, costing $62,500 annually for 25 license plate readers…
