NAACP plans Monday briefing on Toledo police encounter with minor

TOLEDO, Ohio — The NAACP Toledo Branch filed a formal complaint and announced a press conference they will be holding this week regarding a Toledo police encounter with a 15-year-old girl, saying officers were hostile when they encountered the teen and used excessive force when arresting her.

According to the complaint, multiple eyewitnesses say the teenage girl was walking to a neighborhood store with friends on April 10 when officers approached with what the NAACP described as “immediately hostile and aggressive behavior.”
