Deputies on the street achieve award for sheriff’s office

COLUMBUS – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has been elevated to an elite status for its commitment to the community, internally and externally.

The 2026 Accreditation Awards were recently presented to law enforcement agencies by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Office of Criminal Justice Services. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is one of 24 agencies to receive the award.

“It’s all about integrity and public trust and transparency in local law enforcement agencies,” said Nicole Dehner, executive director of the Office of Criminal Justice Services and the Department of Public Safety. “This program offers agencies the ability to show their community that they want to work with them, for them, and not against them.”…
