A month after Michigan woman vanished in Bahamas, Coast Guard investigators seek tips

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As it continues to investigate the disappearance of a Michigan woman in the Bahamas, the U.S. Coast Guard is looking to find the owner of a sailboat who may have information.

Lynette Hooker, 55, of Onsted in Lenawee County, vanished April 4. Her husband Brian Hooker told authorities she fell off their boat and was swept away in a current.

Daughter of woman missing in Bahamas still has questions

In a Tuesday social media post, the Coast Guard said it wanted to find the owner of a sailboat that was moored near the Hookers’ boat. The post included two photos of the sailboat, but did not offer more information about when or precisely where those photos are from. Messages left with the Coast Guard in Miami late Tuesday afternoon seeking details were not immediately returned.

Lynette Hooker’s daughter, Karli Aylesworth, went to the Bahamas in the weeks after her mother went missing.
