Missing runner found dead near last GPS point in Mount St. Helens area

HILLSBORO, Ore. (KATU) — Authorities have discovered the body of a man reported missing in the Mount St. Helens area since June.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office first asked for the public’s help finding 37-year-old Ben Andersen on June 29, after he had been missing for nearly two weeks.

At the time, Andersen was believed to be training for the Bigfoot 200 ultramarathon trail race when he went missing. His last known GPS location was recorded on May 18 near National Forest Road 25…
