Providence Health Plan to end most insurance offerings starting in 2027

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Providence Health Plan will stop offering most of its health insurance plans beginning in 2027.

The health system first made the announcement back in May. According to Providence, members, employers, providers and brokers will see no immediate changes. Coverage, provider networks and customer service will continue without interruption through the end of 2026, and Providence said it will honor all contractual, regulatory and legal obligations during the transition.

Officials said it is ending its Individual and Family and Employer Group/Commercial lines of business while working to transition Medicare Advantage and Medicaid members to new coverage options…
