PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Ahead of the James Beard Public Market’s opening, officials are working to improve transit in the area.
Starting on Tuesday, Apr. 21, crews will start upgrading TriMet’s Line 15 stop on Southwest Alder Street at 10th Avenue, the Portland Bureau of Transportation announced on Friday. Construction will begin at another Alder Street stop at 6th Avenue later in May.

PBOT said it is working to build a “comfortable, high-capacity front door for future visitors” of the James Beard Public Market. After years of preparation and delays, the food hall is slated to debut in early April 2027.
