VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — At Ocean Eddie’s on the Virginia Beach fishing pier, they’re known for great food, panoramic ocean views and a casual old-beach vibe. Owner Jeff Hague has been here for about 25 years, and in all that time, he’d never seen what he was greeted with Thursday.
“We had some guests here from California, and she came up to me and had a little baby pearl in her fingers and asked me if I wanted it,” Hague said, “and I said, ‘Well, where’d you get that from?’ She said, ‘from an oyster.’ She asked me, ‘Have you ever had anybody, find a pearl before?’ And I said, ‘no, never.’”
