NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in the 4600 block of Colley Avenue that damaged a parked vehicle and the Ryan Resilience Lab.
The crash caused extensive property damage, striking an electric vehicle charging station and a RAFT rain garden system at the facility, according to a social media post from the Elizabeth River Project. They posted pictures of the damage, which they shared with WAVY.
A Norfolk Police spokesperson said the incident occurred between 5 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 7 a.m. on Aug. 26. A vehicle struck a parked car in the roadway before continuing along the block, causing additional property damage.
The damaged EV charging station and rain garden system serve as public features at the Ryan Resilience Lab, which was designed to demonstrate sustainability, resilience and environmental stewardship in the Norfolk community.
