VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A new 9:30 p.m. curfew at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront is entering its second night, clearing out crowds in the city’s busiest tourist district.
The temporary measure, approved by city leaders, restricts recreational activity in the Oceanfront resort area after 9:30 p.m. for all ages. Police say the goal is to prevent late-night incidents after two mass shootings in the last two months — one on April 11 and one on March 7 — and restore a sense of safety.
