Three hurt after hybrid vehicle involved in fiery crash in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Three people were taken to the hospital after a fiery crash on Southern Avenue in Southeast D.C. overnight.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on May 3, units with the DC Fire and EMS Department were called to 9th Street and Southern Avenue, where two vehicles collided, and one caught fire.

Kayaker dies, 2 others rescued from Potomac River

The US Park Police helicopter was requested to the scene to check for additional victims who may have been in the wooded area near the crash.

Of the three victims, two people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries…
