Man faces up to 33 years for Northwest DC bar murder

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A jury found a Montgomery Village, Md., man guilty of murder on Tuesday in the killing of 45-year-old Kenneth Goins at a Northwest D.C. bar in 2024.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia said that around 1:10 a.m. on April 27, 2024, Robert Lowe and Goins were inside Desperados Burger and Bar on U Street NW. There, Lowe reportedly hit Goins in the head with a bottle, starting a fight between the two.

The USAO said that Goins “started to get the best of [Lowe],” which is when Lowe shot him several times, hitting him once in the abdomen…
