Weekend rain chances could put a damper on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day weekend around the DMV will come with some rain chances this year, but thankfully not a complete washout.

Timing is key when it comes to tracking the rain with two separate rounds at the very beginning and very end of this weekend.

After a mostly sunny day on Friday, clouds will increase in the late afternoon and give way to showers that look to last through about Saturday evening.

Rainfall amounts will range from around a quarter of an inch or less around the area with a relatively low-end severe risk.
