WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Kansas schools are preparing to welcome students back after adopting new device policies.
McPherson implemented a new Chromebook policy partway through the last school year and will be carrying it into this year. Haysville is following McPherson’s lead, announcing on Tuesday that students at two of the district’s middle schools will no longer be assigned individual Chromebooks.

McPherson Middle School Principal Inge Esping said technology can be a valuable tool in classrooms, but it’s important to build in some guidelines to capitalize on its value for learning and limit potential distractions.
