WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Department of Transportation announced Monday that it will temporarily close Interstate 135 in both directions at 101st Street in northern Sedgwick County.
The closure will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and is anticipated to last until 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17. The closure is part of the ongoing bridge redeck project.
‘Significant’ water main break closes Main Street at railroad crossing in Newton
During the project, traffic will be directed onto the exits and will be able to reenter the interstate from the on-ramps. Drivers can expect minor delays through the area during the project.
Weather permitting, the redeck project is scheduled to be completed by late September. Wichita’s Wildcat Construction is the primary contractor for the $1.5 million project.
