WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Storm Team 12 Weather Alert Day is in place for Friday evening in south central Kansas as the potential for hail, wind, and some heavy rain returns. The timing looks like 4pm-11pm, and then the active weather will be pushed out by a cold front.
The highest threat of storms will be along and south of a line from Medicine Lodge to Hutchinson to Topeka. Highs will range from the 50s in northwest Kansas to lower 80s near Wichita, but once the front moves through, it will be cooling down significantly for the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with highs in the 60s to start the weekend and then warming into the 70s Sunday…
