Injured bald eagle finds new home at Sedgwick County Zoo

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Sedgwick County Zoo announced Wednesday that it is welcoming its newest bird to the flock: Kiki the bald eagle.

When Kiki was young, she flew into powerlines, resulting in injury to both of her wings. Those injuries left her unable to fly and prevented her from being released back into the wild.

The zoo said Kiki has spent the past several years helping people connect with wildlife through educational experiences.

“Now, at approximately 10 years old, we’re honored to provide Kiki with a new home while helping guests care, connect, and conserve,” the zoo wrote on Facebook…
