Sedgwick County paramedic cleared of wrongdoing in attempt to save K-9 Bane

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services on Thursday dismissed a case against a paramedic who tried to save the life of Sedgwick County K-9 Bane.

After a public complaint, Sedgwick County paramedic Bryan Shastid faced a potential fine for a diversion of property violation.

According to the comments Shastid gave Thursday during the investigations committee meeting, he was on standby as law enforcement looked for a robbery suspect in November 2023.
