Wichita police warn of new phone scam, say callers are impersonating WPD staff

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Police sounded the alarm Wednesday, saying people are impersonating staff at the Wichita Police Department as part of a recent phone scam.

WPD reminded the public in a Facebook post that staff will never call and ask for money or payment of any kind.

If you receive a suspicious call, police said you should refrain from sharing any personal information, hang up and report the incident.
