Wichita veteran deployed twice, helping ‘babysit’ Iran and defeat Islamic State group

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita native Christopher Rodriguez spent over a decade serving his country in the Air Force and the Kansas Air National Guard.

He joined the guard in 2011 and trained to be a ground radar maintenance technician.

“You’re basically putting the eyes, the air picture, up front for the troops in an area where there may not be one,” he said.
