JJ’s Star Spangled Salute: A Veteran Heals With VR

Today, I salute Army Veteran Jeffrey Brunnelson. After multiple strokes in 2007 left him with lasting physical challenges, Brunnelson transformed his life, but he didn’t do it alone. With support from the VA, he improved his health, lowering his Type II diabetes A1C through better nutrition, medication, and exercise. He also embraced virtual reality, using programs like Real VR Fishing, guided meditation, and virtual movies to stay engaged and reduce stress. Through occupational therapy, he regained strength and no longer needed a high-tech arm support device. Today, Brunnelson maintains healthy habits and credits VR and VA care teams for his progress, highlighting how immersive technology is helping thousands of Veterans nationwide. Congratulations on your progress, Jeffrey, and THANK YOU for your service…
