Wichita City Council gets update on development near Equity Bank Park

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Wichita City Council received detailed information on development around Equity Bank Park on Tuesday during a workshop.

The council recently agreed to buy a future parking garage on the southeast side of the ballpark. The 300-stall garage would be built at the corner of Maple Street and McLean Boulevard and would have a swimming pool on the top floor.

The parking garage purchase is contingent upon substantial completion of an adjacent hotel and apartments, according to city documents.
