The Wilmington Police Department has released additional information in the investigation into the fatal officer-involved shooting of Kadir Skinner.
Police said the information is being released in the interest of transparency while reminding the public that the investigation remains active. The case continues to be investigated by the Wilmington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Office of Professional Standards, along with the Delaware Department of Justice.
According to the department, an examination conducted by the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences determined that Skinner sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper left buttocks area.
