WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – First Fruit Ministries hosted its annual Waymaker Luncheon on Tuesday, highlighting a new grant from the American Heart Association and Novant Health that funded a commercial-grade oven for the organization.
The new oven is allowing the ministry to produce hundreds of additional fresh, home-cooked meals each month for Wilmington residents facing food insecurity.
“We have long prayed for that stove to be replaced,” Executive Director Lee Anna Stoker said. “It was on its very last leg and they came in and were so generous and they bought us a new stove. And you have to understand, we cook and send out to the street over 20,000 hot meals every single year.”…
