COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Columbus city leaders heard a warning on Tuesday, July 28: employee pay is at risk of falling behind again, just a few years after a major salary overhaul.
At the city council meeting, outside consultant Mark Holcombe of Evergreen Solutions presented the findings of the latest employee pay study, the firm’s first evaluation of Columbus salaries since 2022.
Holcombe reminded council what his team found four years ago: more than 80 percent of city employees were below the midpoint of their pay range, and more than half were in the bottom quarter…
