Livingston Parish: Over 785 pounds of meth seized from 18-wheeler

DENHAM SPRINGS — Livingston Parish deputies seized over 785 pounds of meth during a traffic stop on I-12 near Denham Springs. The man they arrested was previously arrested on a charge of manufacturing and/or distributing meth.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office K9 Division conducted the stop with an 18-wheeler on I-12 Eastbound at Denham Springs. During the stop, LPSO deputies identified the truck’s driver as Anton Vitalyevich Rakov, a Russian national, according to the agency. Due to his illegal status, Rakov was taken into custody.

An investigation into the 18-wheeler’s trailer led LPSO Narcotics agents to discover around 358.14 kilos—789.56 pounds—of methamphetamine. Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard said this is one of the biggest meth seizures in the parish and all of Louisiana…
