COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTOC) – Two Coastal Empire bowlers received major state honors at the Georgia State USBC (United States Bowling Congress) Jamboree in Columbus over the weekend.
Nelson Tellames of Richmond Hill and Jeffrey Eastlake of Hinesville, who both bowl out of Marne Lanes on Fort Stewart, were recognized for their meritorious service and dedication to the sport.
Nelson Tellames Inducted into Hall of Fame
Nelson Tellames was officially inducted into the Georgia State Bowling Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service.
Tellames has a storied history of leadership in the regional and national bowling communities. He currently serves as the Association President for both the Fort Stewart USBC and the Greater Savannah USBC, and is the Vice President of the Georgia State USBC. A passionate advocate for youth sports, Tellames is a certified Silver Level coach and serves as the State Director for the USBC Youth Scratch Championships.
