Soldier pays his kids a surprise visit at Downtown Elementary

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A local soldier returned home after being stationed overseas for more than a year to surprise his two youngest kids at their elementary school on Friday.

Sergeant First Class Preston Kilpatrick came back from Korea, leaving his two youngest kids utterly shocked when he walked into their classroom at Downtown Elementary.

While his two youngest were completely surprised, Kilpatrick’s two oldest were in on the sweet surprise.

Kilpatrick shared the impact and the support system his family and loved ones have built here in the Chattahoochee Valley.

“I would say having that work/life balance. I’m thankful for the community that Muscogee County has offered my wife to work with and being a part of the DOWEA . . . That’s given her a great opportunity,” Kilpatrick said…
