Woman found not guilty by reason of mental illness in Moody shooting

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) – A woman indicted for shooting a driver in St. Clair County has been found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

Rebecca Armstrong was committed to Bryce Hospital for psychiatric care following the ruling.

The shooting happened in July 2023.

Authorities said that around 5 p.m., Moody police were called to the area of Highway 411 and Kerr Road to investigate a possible shooting. When they arrived, they searched the area before finding Altovise McCloud inside her car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds…
