GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The first Costco in the Capital Region will be opening its doors on Thursday. Here is everything you need to know about the new warehouse.

Where is Costco located?
The Capital Region Costco will be located at 1701 Western Avenue in Guilderland. The warehouse sits directly across from the southern side of Crossgates Mall, nearest to Dick’s Sporting Goods.
What time will Costco be open?
Costco will open on Thursday at 8 a.m. After that, the warehouse will be open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
What products does Costco offer?
Costco offers a large selection of bulk and single-unit grocery, household and health essentials. The Guilderland warehouse will also include a tire service center, hearing aid center, optical department, pharmacy, gas station and food court.
How can you get a Costco membership?
Costco memberships are available to all individuals 16 years old and older with valid photo identification and a valid U.S. address. Each membership is valid for a 12-month period and can be used at any Costco warehouse worldwide.
Shoppers can choose from two Costco membership options: the $65 Gold Star Membership and the $130 Executive Membership. Both can be used to shop online and in warehouses but the Executive Membership includes other perks like extended shopping hours, an annual 2% reward on eligible purchases and other benefits.

According to Costco officials, more than 14,000 people have already signed up for a membership, approaching a new record for the company. Interested shoppers can avoid the opening-day rush and purchase their membership early on the upper level of Crossgates Mall, near Macy’s.
Can you shop at Costco without a membership?
Unfortunately, you must have a membership to enter the warehouse and purchase most items, including groceries, household essentials, electronics and appliances, cleaning supplies, furniture and more. You must also be a paid member in order to use the warehouse’s gas station.
Non-members can, however, still purchase prescriptions from the Costco pharmacy using cash, debit, a Costco Shop Card or a Visa card.

All U.S. Costco warehouse locations, including the upcoming warehouse in Guilderland, accept the following forms of payment:
- All Visa cards
- The Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi
- Most PIN-based DEBIT/ATM Cards
- Costco Shop Cards
- Cash
- Personal checks from current Costco members
- Business checks from current Costco Business members
- Traveler’s checks
- EBT cards
- Mobile payment (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay)
- Filtered Spend Visa/Mastercard
- InComm and Optum MedFlex cards
