ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A woman is dead after being hit by a CDTA bus in Albany on Friday afternoon. The Albany Police Department said the incident took place in the area of New Scotland Avenue and Morris Street at about 3:15 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 66-year-old woman in the roadway with serious injuries. She was treated on scene by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel, but was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Albany police, preliminarily, it appeared that the victim tripped and fell into the street underneath the moving CDTA bus before being struck. Shortly after, the bus was located.

Albany police said the CDTA driver was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, which remains active and going. The area was also closed to all traffic.
