ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Metropolitan Detention Center reported two inmate deaths in separate cases, including one man who died after a medical emergency and another found dead off-site.
The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center said Elliott Scott Sanchez, 57, was booked into MDC on Sept. 15 at 11:11 p.m.
Just before 2 p.m. on Sept. 17, MDC said it called a medical emergency for an inmate in distress. They said an ambulance took Sanchez to UNM Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at about 3:30 p.m.
Another inmate dies off-site
The second inmate was found dead off-site, which Albuquerque police believe had to do with a fentanyl overdose.
MDC said Charles P. Jaramillo, 37, was most recently booked into the jail on June 15. The jail approved him for the MDC Community Custody Program on Sept. 15…
